Growing Sunflower Sprout Seeds
Sunflower sprouts are easy and fast to grow. Soak the seeds for 8-12 hours to help soften the seed coat and signal the start of germination. We recommend a rate of about 4 Tablespoons of seed (0.25 cups) per cup of water. Proceed to rinse the seeds 2-3 times a day until they are ready to eat. Sunflower sprouts are generally ready to harvest in 2-3 days, just be sure to remove the seed coat before eating. You can easily sprout sunflowers using the tray, jar, or bag methods at home and on the go.
These high quality, certified organic sprouting sunflower seeds have high germination rates for use in sprouting and growing microgreens. We recommend including them in your food storage and regular pantry stock for use in salads, snack, meals, and more! Their resealable packaging makes it easy to use as much as you would like at a time.
Benefits of Sunflower Sprouts
Organic sunflower seeds are high in fiber, protein, essential fatty acids, vitamins A, B complex, C, potassium, and magnesium. They also offer the trace elements zinc, manganese, copper, and chromium. Sunflower sprouts are able to provide many vital nutrients because of their status as a living food. Living foods are known to promote better health when incorperated into the regular everyday diet. In addition to sprouting, sunflowers may also be grown as microgreens. Organic Sunflower microgreens are also rich in chlorophyll, enzymes, vitamins, and proteins.
The 10 pack of seeds is enough sunflower seed to grow 10 trays (10" x 21") of sunflower greens. Each approximately 2 cup bag is pre-measured for one tray. Be sure to check our sunflower microgreens growing kit.
