Flint corn (commonly called Indian Corn), gets its name from the hard outer layer on each kernel. It is not typically eaten like sweet corn, and can be ground into cornmeal or used in soups. Often very colorful and commonly used as ornamental decoration. Note that not all flint corn is ornamental, and not all ornamental corn is flint corn, but flint corn as a category has the most ornamental options.
