Valerian Seeds
Valerian Seeds
Valerian, otherwise known as the garden heliotrope, is a perennial flowering herb known to heal many things. It requires full sun and wet to damp soils for healthy growth. You can expect to see its white blooms in June or July. You can grow this herb in zones 4-9 as it is cold tolerant. You will see your plants die back to the ground through the winter, however, they will come back in the spring. Don't expect this leafy friend to stay small, Valerian can reach up to 5' tall under the right conditions. To prevent undesirable seed spreading simply cut these beautiful white blooms as cut flowers to enjoy in your home.
