Purple Top White Globe Turnip is a cool-weather annual in zones 3-9. It is usually planted in the late winter to early spring for a late spring harvest. In zones 9-10, this turnip can be grown and harvested throughout the winter. Growing indoors is possible. However, managing temperature may be difficult. Consider a porch garden where you can move the plants indoors or outdoors, depending on temperatures and weather conditions.

Sowing: Seven Top Turnip is usually sown outdoors in the early spring when the grown can be tilled before the last frost. Start outside usually 2-4 weeks before the last frost date. Start seeds ½” deep in the soil. Keep the soil moderately moist. Also, sow in late summer for a late fall harvest.
Soil Preference: Seven Top prefers crumbly soil that is well-drained. It has a wide range of germination temperatures (40-75°F).
Other Tips: Remove other or withered leaves from each turnip plant to promote the healthy growth of all the other greens. Leafy greens will taste best harvested after nights at or below 40° F.
