Growing QIS Series Statice Garden Seeds

QIS Series statice seeds may be sown directly outside immediately after final frost or, for early blooming, start indoors 6-8 weeks prior to last frost. QIS Series seeds will germinate in 10-21 days with complete darkness. Lightly cover 3-4 QIS Series Statice seeds in soil every 10-12 inches in moist, loamy, and well-drained soil in full sun. QIS Series statice will often struggle in hot, humid, or soggy conditions and does not like to be disturbed once established. Plants are fairly drought tolerant. QIS Series statice is susceptible to crown rot and mold, so properly ventilate and avoid overhead watering to minimize moisture and wetting foliage. QIS Series statice seeds mature in 91-105 days as 30-36 inch tall bushy uprights with an 8-10 inch spread and 18 inch tall stems with elegant clusters of leafy, papery blooms of rose, apricot, lavender, dark blue, pale blue, yellow, white, or mixed.

Limonium sinuatum is commonly known as Statice, Sea Lavender, Sea Pink, Wavyleaf Sea Lavender, and Notch Leaf Marsh Rosemary. Limonium sinuatum is native to the cool, temperate regions surrounding the Mediterranean including Spain, northern Africa, Canary Islands and Palestine.
