Homemade Pizza Sauce

This homemade pizza sauce really is the best I’ve ever tasted. In addition to pizza, it is excellent as a dip for breadsticks or basically any recipe calling for marinara sauce. You can whip this up in 5 or 10 minutes, and it freezes well. You can use fresh tomatoes, just be sure to watch the consistency, and you’ll want to add a bit of extra seasonings. You can also cook down your own tomatoes to make your own tomato paste to help add thickness. Obviously this will just add to the preparation time. Enjoy!

Homemade Pizza Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 (14 ounce) can Italian stewed tomatoes
  • 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • ½ tsp granulated garlic
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp lemon juice
  • Pinch red pepper flakes

Instructions:> Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until desired consistency.
