These Yellow Morel Mushroom (Morchella esculenta) are also called sponge mushrooms. The are hollow throughout making them popular for stuffing with meats or vegetables. The meaty texture and woodsy taste of these mushrooms create an excellent variant to the typical mushroom. Morels are some of the most prized mushrooms because of their flavor and texture which defies comparison to any other edible, gourmet mushroom.
Reconstituting: Rinse mushrooms thoroughly. Soak 1 Oz. of mushrooms in 8 Oz. of liquid per for twenty minutes. May use water, or soak in milk in the refrigerator overnight. Strain and store reconstituted mushrooms in an air-tight container in a dry, cool place like the refrigerator.
