Digitalis is also known as Foxgloves but etymologists are still unsure why. Native to western and southwestern Europe, central Asia, and northwest Africa, Digitalis is often grown as an ornamental plant because of its variegated blooms. The colors range from purple to pink and from white to yellow. The tubular flowers form along the stem in the shape of a spike.
This large, showy plant is a
striking addition to any shade garden.
