AKA: blue licorice, purple giant hyssop, Indian mint, wrinkled giant hyssop, huo xiang, Chinese patchouli, and Korean hyssop. Korean mint is an aromatic herb in the mint family native to East Asia. It has a licorice scent. The plant can grow up to 3 feet and produces violet to blue flowering clusters attracting butterflies and bees. About 60,000 Seeds / Oz.
The leaves are oval, crinkled, and has serrated margins. Prepare fertile, well-drained soil. Sow seeds in late spring after last frost in a sunny location. Needs light to germinate so press seeds lightly into soil. The herbs aroma is less intense when grown in shade. Keep soil moist. In southern Korea cuisine, Korean mint is used in chueo tang, maeun tang, and Korean pancakes, buchimgae.
