For earliest blooms, begin 21st Century Mix phlox indoors 6 " 8 weeks before final frost date. Seeds will germinate in 7 " 14 days in complete darkness and, transplant phlox seedlings once frost danger has passed.
21st Century Mix can be susceptible to mold, crown rot, and powdery mildew if not properly drained or ventilated, especially in humid gardens. Deadhead for extended flowering into the fall. Phlox has no serious pests or disease, but monitor regularly for aphids and spider mites.
